How soon before traveling outside of the United States do I need to start vaccines?
It takes approximately six months to complete a full series of travel vaccines depending on where you are traveling, how long you will be staying, and the purpose of the travel. It is recommended to start vaccines at least six months prior to departure or as soon as you know your travel plans. It takes a minimum of two weeks to build immunity to any vaccines. If there are more than one injection required in an immunization series, you will not have full immunity if the series has not been completed.
