The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is one of the first agencies in the state to launch the 24/7 Sobriety Program. Judges can use the program as a bond condition or probation as a deterrent for those who are repeat DWUI offenders or other alcohol related behavioral problems. Once on the program participants must come in twice daily and submit to a portable breath test. If they fail to meet the conditions set forth by the 24/7 Sobriety Program they are immediately arrested for violating their terms of probation or bond. Participants are required to pay for their testing so the program is self-funded.
Wyoming's program is modeled after South Dakota's Sobriety Program where arrests for repeat drunk drivers fell by 12 percent.
