Shane Doyle, Messages from Medicine Wheel Country

Celebrate Wyoming Archaeological Awareness month at the Rockpile Museum on Friday, September 17th at 6:30 p.m. with a program titled “Messages from Medicine Wheel Country” by Dr. Shane Doyle. The program will cover what we can learn about Native people from the materials and formations they left behind on the Northern Plains. Dr. Shane Doyle, Apsáalooke, will share insight from his research on the ancient cultural geography of the Powder River Country and surrounding region.
Shane Doyle, EdD, Apsáalooke, is an educational and cultural consultant who hails from Crow Agency, Montana. Now based in Bozeman, Dr. Doyle is engaged with many professional projects, including curriculum design for groups like the National Native American Hall of Fame, environmental advocacy for groups like the Montana Wilderness Association, archaeological and genetic research for Montana State University and the University of Copenhagen, and assistant artistic director and performer for Mountain Time Arts. Shane is currently the Lead Coordinator for the Montana Warrior Spirit Curriculum Design Project and Assistant Producer for an upcoming Indigenous Day of Acknowledgment to commemorate Yellowstone Park’s 150th birthday.
