Campbell County Public Library System (CCPLS) has many resources to support small businesses in our community. The libraries in both Gillette and Wright have Tech Centers which offer free access to computers and internet. Each library also has photocopiers, scan-to-email, fax machines, and notaries public. The library provides information on government licensing and regulations, legal contracts, financing, hiring employees, accounting, paying taxes, marketing, and advertising.
CCPLS has two specific databases to help small business: Gale LegalForms and Reference Solutions (formerly Reference USA). Gale LegalForms offers a wide selection of Wyoming-specific legal forms that may be customized for any legal procedures. Per the Gale LegalForms website, “these forms are ideal for supporting legal tasks relevant to business owners, such as filing for copyrights, patents and trademarks, articles of incorporation, licenses, and more.” The Reference Solutions database contains over 270 million consumers in the US and Canada. Information includes name, location, addresses, estimated home values and household incomes, and more. This consumer data can be used to compile community demographic information and build mailing lists for your business.
Your library also offers high-end software for audio and video production. The Sound Lab at your Gillette library houses audio recording equipment and both libraries provide free access to Adobe Suite software products including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and InDesign. A small business looking to create high-quality web content and/or promotional materials can take advantage of all these resources.
In addition, CCPLS works to provide free, clean, and quiet space to conduct business. Whether a business owner needs to meet one-on-one with a client or train a larger group, your libraries have spaces for both. Our small study rooms are perfect for meeting with clients and our large meeting rooms accommodate larger groups and provide sound systems and projection. Recently upgraded WiFi at your libraries now provides high speed, reliable wireless internet connections for video and audio conferencing.
Campbell County libraries work hard to have valuable and relevant resources ready at a moment’s notice for the people in our communities. Any person who is thinking of or currently working on starting a small business in Campbell County should make the library one of their first stops. We are here ready to help!
