Sound Lab

111

Our brand new sound lab was funded through a generous grant awarded by the Wyoming Community Foundation and is open to the public. This grant enables patrons to create professional-level recordings using our one-of-a-kind-for-Wyoming lab. We renovated our group study room with sound dampening material and lab equipment includes high-quality mics and headphones, as well as award-winning audio software. To help get past the learning curve, Reference Staff created a quick-start guide. Come find your voice and record a song or podcast, conduct an interview, or even create a commercial. Everything you need is provided – just remember to bring your flash drive!

No specific project in mind? How about participating in the Veterans History Project? The Veterans History Project was created by Congress to help future generations hear directly from veterans about the realities of war. Contribute to history and honor the veterans in our community by helping to capture their story. We encourage you to reach out and find a veteran who would like to participate–we have the Sound Lab and Veterans History Project Field Kit ready for you.

Does this sound like something you’d be interested to try? Stop by or call CCPL’s reference desk (307.687.0115) and we can set up a reservation and answer your questions. We’re excited to see all the creative projects our community will come up with. Chat with us about your ideas. We love to hear what you are working on, and our staff might even be able to introduce you to some new resources.
