Wyoming License Plates
Commercial Vehicle (COM)
A power unit having 2 axles and a gross vehicle weight or registered gross weight exceeding 26,001 pounds; a power unit having 3 or more axles regardless of weight or when the weight of such combination exceeds 26,001 of gross vehicle weight.
House Trailers (HT):
Designed as a dwelling place or sleeping place equipped for use on streets and highways and are 8 ½ feet or less in width.
Effective January 1, 2015, Wyoming Statute 39-3-101 (a) (ii) (E) provides that the state fee for house trailer registrations shall be based upon the unladen (empty) weight of the house trailer. Depending on the unladen weight that is determined for your house trailer your fee may be more than it has been in the past.
Light Weight Trailers (LT)
Trailers having an empty weight of 1,000 pounds or less
Trailers (TRL)
Without propelling power designed to be drawn by a motor vehicle with an empty weight of 1001 pounds or more.
Motorcycle (MC)
Having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than 3 wheels in contact with the ground but which may have attached a sidecar for the purpose of transporting a single person.
Passenger
Designed to carry 10 persons or less and primarily used to transport persons, including ambulances and hearses but excluding motorcycles, motor homes, multipurpose vehicles, trucks and school buses.
Truck (T)
Designed, used, or maintained for the transportation of property, including pickup trucks.
Multipurpose Vehicle (V)

Designed to travel on at least four (4) wheels in contact with the ground, has an unladen weight of at least three hundred (300) pounds but less than three thousand (3,000) pounds, has a permanent upright seat or saddle for the driver which is mounted at least twenty-four (24) inches from the ground and has an identifying number. A State of Wyoming multipurpose information checklist must be completed to obtain a Wyoming title and registration.

Handicapped Plates and Placards (W)

The plates or placards are obtained by having a doctor complete a form that may be obtained from the county treasurer's office or the local Driver's License office. Once the form is completed, it must be returned to the Driver's License office for approval (not the county treasurer's office). The County Treasurer may issue Handicapped Plates to persons authorized by the State of Wyoming to display them.
A person qualifying for handicapped status may be issued:
- Two placard, or;
- One placard and one set of plates

Applications for prestige plates are available at the County Treasurer's Office or the State of Wyoming's website. The application must be completed with the $30.00 fee and submitted to:
