Children & Teens in the Library
Our libraries offer warm, welcoming spaces for youth to enjoy, along with many educational and entertaining events. However, staff cannot provide supervision or be responsible for youth in the library.

Children
Kids are welcome at the Library! The Children’s department provides recreational and educational resources for children from birth through 6th grade. Collections, services, and events are designed to meet the informational needs of this age group. Professional staff members provide expertise in childrens’ literature, early literacy education, reading development and fluency, STEAM activities, creative projects, technology and information literacy, and fun events for kids!

Teens
The basement of the public library houses a Teen Room designed specially for 7th-12th graders in our community. Teens in junior high and high school are welcome to “hang out” in the Teen Room whenever the library is open. This department features an extensive collection of Young Adult literature; STEAM resources, including a makerspace and a 3D printer; computers for recreational and homework use; a Teen Volunteer program; and clubs and events designed by teens, for teens. Professional staff are available to provide support and resources.

Favorite Authors Club
Take advantage of the Favorite Authors Club and enjoy the advantages of getting your name placed on your favorite author's newest book as soon as they come out. Fill out this form or pick up a form at the Circulation desk. Your name will be rotated with each new book.

Outreach
The mission of our Outreach Services Department is to extend your library beyond traditional boundaries through personalized homebound visitation, off-site mini-libraries and programs, or books-by-mail. When you cannot get to the library because of illness, disability, or advancing age, your library is delivered to you.
