Each library card has a limit of 15 DVDs per card and 35 total items. If your library status is a high school student or a temporary resident you are limited to 10 items.

Audiovisual Equipment

The library rents audiovisual equipment on a per day basis. Audiovisual equipment may be reserved over the phone or at the Circulation Desk.

Renewals

Items may be renewed 25 times unless there is a patron request (hold) on them. A library card should be presented to renew materials at the library. If the physical library card is not immediately available, a patron may verify their identity in another manner. Items may be renewed over the phone by calling the Circulation Desk at 307-682-3223 or Wright Branch at 307-464-0500. The patron's library card number should be given in order to verify the caller's identity. Items may also be renewed with your library card and PIN number in the ‘My Account‘ area of the WYLDCAT Online Catalog.

Notices

The library sends out notices for items on hold and overdue items in both paper and electronic format. We can also send out reminders of approaching due dates for items checked out, by email only. Update your account information to include your email address if you would like to receive these notices. You may also sign up for text message notifications.

Fines and Fees

Overdue Fines

A $0.60 overdue fine per item is charged on the sixth day library materials (except DVDs) are overdue. Thereafter, $0.10 per day / per item accrues, up to a maximum of $3 per item. DVD fines are $1 per day with a maximum of $3 per item. Daily overdue fines on audiovisual equipment begin accruing on the first day equipment is overdue; amounts vary on each piece of equipment but are usually double the original rental cost.

Lost or Damaged Items

Lost or damaged items will be assessed the replacement cost of the item plus a $3 processing fee. Patrons are notified by mail, text, or via email of overdue library materials. If the patron fails to return the materials after receipt of a lost notice sent within 21 days after the materials are due, the account will be forwarded to a collection agency.

Suspension of Privileges

Borrowing privileges are suspended if overdue fines reach $5 or replacement/processing fees for a lost or damaged item have not been paid.
