Volunteer Opportunities
The Helping Hands volunteer program uses the energy of community-minded citizens to help staff live up to the high expectations Campbell County citizens have set for their library. Volunteers help with many behind-the scenes tasks and are always needed.
Adult Volunteers
Adults interested in volunteering can contact Krisene Watson by phone at 687-9210 or fill out our online application. Applications are also available year-round at the circulation desk. Once we receive your completed volunteer application, we will call you for an interview. We ask that you commit to a minimum of two hours volunteer time per week for six months. You will be trained in the job that is assigned to you, and given support by all library staff.
Adults with computer expertise are encouraged to apply to teach one-on-one computer classes for the public. These classes are offered year-round upon request, depending on the availability of volunteer teachers.
Teen Volunteers
Teens interested in volunteering should contact Marcy Mathis by email or by phone at 687-9227. Teen volunteer applications are available from the Young Adult desk at the library. Teens who are entering junior high through high school are encouraged to apply. Teen volunteers are active members of the Teen Advisory Board, which meets monthly. Teen volunteers also help with teen and youth programming, library department jobs, and library support tasks.
