Wyoming Retirement Systems (Public Employees)

All eligible employees (who work at least 20 hours per week) participate in the Wyoming Retirement System (WRS).
This is a lifetime benefit after vestment, employees are vested after four (4) years of employment with Campbell County. Funds are pre-taxed and managed by the Wyoming Retirement System.

Currently, Campbell County contributes both the employee and the employer contribution. Law Enforcement and Fire Fighter pension plans differ.

Deferred Compensation

An optional 457 Deferred Compensation Plan is offered to all eligible  employees (who work at least 20 hours per week). You may enroll in the 457 plan at any time during your employment. You must contribute at least $20.00/pay period, but you can contribute any dollar amount up to the IRS annual plan contribution limit. The 2022 limit is $ 20,500 for participants under the age 50, and those over the age 50 can contribute an additional $6,500 in 2022. Campbell County matches up to $20.00/pay period of the employee's first year of employment. Each year, these amounts are subject to change.
