Civil Process Service

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for serving civil papers in Campbell County, Wyoming.

Papers for service will be accepted Monday through Friday between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. A person or business that requests the Sheriff’s Office to serve any civil paper must complete a Civil Process Worksheet or include a cover letter with instructions for service. The worksheets are also available at the Sheriff’s Office.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office will serve all papers in accordance with the Wyoming Rules of Civil Procedure and relevant state statutes. The Sheriff's Office cannot give legal advice. Please seek legal advice for all civil matters from a state licensed attorney.

FEES

Service fees are determined by county resolution and are as follows:

  • $50.00 per person served (includes three (3) attempts).
  • $10.00 per person for EACH additional attempt.

Fees must be paid at the time the Sheriff’s Office receives the paperwork. The Sheriff’s Office will accept business checks (no personal checks), certified funds or cash.

REQUIREMENTS

All service requests must be accompanied by the Civil Process Worksheet or cover letter with instructions for service. The Sheriff’s Office only serves civil papers that have a valid physical address for either the person’s home or business or both. The Sheriff’s Office will not investigate addresses but will make every effort to affect service with the information it has available to it.
